Eggs by Meyer
"Coloured Illustrations of British Birds and Their Eggs" (Henry Leonard Meyer, 1842-1850)
Henry Leonard Meyer published his work Coloured Illustration of British Birds and their Eggs between 1842-1850. This work was a real family enterprise as it has later been discovered that his wife also illustrated a number of original drawings and prepared many of the stones for the lithographers. Furthermore, a large part of the 600 watercolor drawings were colored by hand by five of their children. The zoologist Casey Wood considered the book to be "with the possible exception of Lord Lilford's Birds ... the finest and most complete atlas of British avifauna (with their eggs) ever published."
