We live in a world of millions of images, most of them new and razor sharp.

There was a time when images illustrated all that which we had no clue about: new inventions, unknown species and breathtaking explorations. Back then, dictionaries were as important as the whole of the internet - a staggering thought. Images were often coloured by hand, which gave them a very particular character and beauty.

We are driven by a strong passion for these unique images. We dig in forgotten archives, private collections and museums in Sweden and around the world - always on the hunt for new exciting images and captivating stories.

Each image is a copy of the original, without compromising on quality, colour balance or even spots. We call it Facsimile - this beautiful word comes from the Latin fac simile ("make alike", "depict").

Through our unique partnerships we will keep surprising you with hundreds of new facsimile prints.
