Roemer #018
Provenance
Part of the work Genera Insectorum Linnaei et Fabricii Iconibus Illustrata (Johann Jacob Roemer, 1789). Johann Jacob Roemer (1763-1819) was a Swiss physician, botanist and entomologist dedicated to the scientific study of insects. Roemer's Genera insectorum is a most attractive Swiss publication on entomology. The splendid hand-coloured plates were drawn and engraved by the Swiss artist J.R. Schellenberg (1740-1806), an entomologist himself and therefore familiar with structural details.
